FOSS for Everyone! / YACY
Last post by Administrator - Dec 27, 2025, 06:49 PM
What is Yacy?

Yacy is what search was meant to be on the internet. It's a peer based search engine in which no single entity controls rankings.

WhyLib operates a public instance free for anyone to use. Try out Independent Search and grow the index.

Welcome / Introducing
Last post by Administrator - Dec 27, 2025, 04:43 PM
Hello,,

I am the operator of the WhyLib, and I'm trying to figure out why open source hasn't gone mainstream.

I want to see more people publishing independently and safeguarding their own memories in media, and less people giving their entire lives over to a corporate entity.

I dedicate this forum to bringing open source to the common folk of the world.

Respectfully,
The Operator
